 Briana Hancock  Diploma in Vet Nursing​

Veterinary Nurse

Briana grew up loving animals and wanted to be a vet one day.  She gained her Diploma in Fashion Design but decided that it would just be a hobby!  

Having always loved animals and wanting to work with them everyday, Briana decided to complete the Veterinary Nursing Diploma and graduated at the end of 2018.  She has 4 cats - a real cat lover!

Briana began her full time career with us in December 2018 and has fast gained her confidence and is a real asset to the team.

 Georgia McKinley  Certificate in Vet Nursing​

Veterinary Nurse

Georgia has been raised around both large and small animals and has always had the goal of working in the animal field one day.   She began working for us as one of our weekend kennel assistants while she was still in High school.


When she finished school, she decided she would pursue her interest in animals and study towards becoming a vet nurse. 


Georgia began working for us as a part time nurse in January 2020 and is currently studying towards her Diploma and then further onto the Bachelors Degree.

 Kayla Knibb  Diploma in Vet Nursing​

Veterinary Nurse

Kayla has always loved animals and entered the vet nursing programme in 2016 completing the Diploma in 2017. 


She worked in pet stores during and immediately following her study while searching for the right position in the right clinic.   This experience exposed her to caring for many different species including exotics and she now has a cat and a bearded dragon. 

"I am so excited to start my career in nursing and pass on my knowledge to clients helping them during the time their pet is with us."

Veterinary Nurse

Zena grew up in Central Hawkes Bay and after leaving school spent 5 years working in the meat works.  As she has always had a passion for animals so began her studies and completed her Certificate in Veterinary Nursing in 2014 while working part time at Carlyle Vets.  She has now also completed her Diploma. 


Zena has 2 children and a passion for pitbull terriers.  In her leisure time she enjoys hunting with her family mostly locally - deer and pigs. 

"Medical nursing is my passion, spending time with our hospitalised patients ensuring they are comfortable and giving them the extra TLC that very ill pets require.

Jo Lochrie 

Hospital Assistant

​Jo joined the team in 2003 as a part time Hospital Assistant.  Her role is varied with some days working full time in the hospital caring for your sick and injured pets and other days keeping the clinic spic and span.

Jo and her partner Malcolm together have four daughters, three sons and six gorgeous grandchildren which keep them very busy in their spare time. 

Jo has a four year old cat—Rhetta—who she rescued from the SPCA.

Jo's interests include socializing with friends, music and travel.

"I feel very privileged to be able to care for your pets when they are in our hospital and I strive to make their stay as comfortable and stress free as possible  ."

Hospital Assistant

​Charlotte joined the team in 2021 as one of the weekend Kennel Assistants and is a year 12 student at Sacred Heart.

She has always had a passion for animals and is interested in a career in Vet Nursing.

Working for Carlyle Vet at the weekends, caring for the hospitalised patients will be a great opportunity to ‘get a taste’ of what Vet Nursing is about.  

Charlotte has two dogs named Gavin and Tundra, and two cats named Marvin and Clover.

Cheyenne Hain

Hospital Assistant

Cheyenne grew up on a farm in a small town called Porangahau in the Central Hawkes Bay district. Later in life moved to Napier but always craved being back on the farm.


Cheyenne has always had a passion for taking care of animals and always hoped one day she could make a career out of it.


At the beginning of 2021, she enrolled at EIT and is currently studying for a Certificate in Vet Nursing. She is enjoying learning about the role of a vet nurse in a clinic.


“Having the opportunity to work at the Carlyle Vet Clinic as a kennel hand assistant, while studying has shown me what the environment is like. I’m very excited to start my career in vet nursing.”



Ann Sheeran

Reception Manager

Ann has been with us here at Carlyle Vets since 1997.   Her main role is reception, however in the last few years she has expanded this to include the scheduling of farm work and retailing farm products.

Ann also shares responsibility for creditor management and steps into the financial management role when needed.  Her job is always varied and unpredictable, as we never know from day to day what and who is going to come through the door.  Ann enjoys meeting people and has always worked in positions dealing with the public.  She prides herself in always trying to exceed our customers expectations.

Ann and her husband Kevin have been married since 1975.  They have two sons, Aaron in Tauranga and Ryan their second son who lives and works in the engineering field in Napier.  A wee granddaugther completes their family.

Ann's interests include gardening—her and Kevin grow all their own vegetables and have a beautiful flower garden, cooking, exercise and at the weekends they both enjoy biking.

Sharon Grant

Recall Coordinator

Sharon joined the team in April 2013 to spearhead a new initiative to contact our clients following consultaitons and surgeries.  This role has expanded to include coordinating our weight clinic, a position she takes very seriously and supports clients who are committed to getting thier pet to their optimum weight and increasing the chances of a long and healthy life.


Sharon has lived all her life in Napier and has been breeding purebred Labrador Retrievers since 1995.  In addition, Sharon has shown and bred horses and ponies.  She is married to Colin and has 1 daughter, Candace and 3 delightful granddaughters. 


Sharon was the Administrator at Otatara Childrens Centre for 18 years and made the decision to take a career change to indulge in her passion for animals.  She has wide experience in dealing with people from all walks of life and is enjoying the variety that this position offers.

Philippa Lintott
Pippa Lintott

Business Manager and Owner

Pippa has worked in management roles for a most of her working life and has been with us since 1996.   As the overall Manager of the business her role encompasses marketing, financial managment, inventory control, IT and human resources. 

As co-owner of the business and Michael’s wife, Pippa frequently accompanies him  after hours and really enjoys going out on farm work when the opportuniyt arises– ‘great to get out from behind the desk.’

She is a conscientious, hard working manager who takes pride in ensuring that we always provide you with the best possible outcome. 

Pippa's interests include travel, running and combined with her love of the Hungarian Vizsla is often seen running Napier's pathways accompanied by these beautiful gundogs.  She breeds and shows the Vizsla's which is a great way to combine a love of the breed and socialising with friends. 

Mike and Pippa have 3 grown up sons - 2 in New Zealand; Matthew and his wife Lucy with a beautiful son, Flynn and Colby the cat (Cambridge), Chris and Claud (London), and Paddy and Nicki with naother gorgeous son, Van (Tauranga).
