Hailing from the other side of the globe, she was born and raised in the USA. Her and her husband visited New Zealand 8 years ago and fell in love with the nature and people with a promise to one day emigrate to this beautiful country. She graduated with her degree in biology then her veterinary degree from the University of Wisconsin in 2013 (Go Badgers!). Since graduating she has mixed it up! Working as an overnight emergency veterinarian, daytime veterinarian, and a companion animal veterinarian while also volunteering at the local aquarium to mark sea turtle nesting sites. This inspired her to return to school a third time where she completed a masters degree in conservation medicine.

In her free time she loves anything that gets her outside: hiking, camping, running, biking, kayaking, and anything in between. Her other passions include conservation and wildlife photography.

Fun fact: She has been lucky enough to spend a month each in Madagascar and India, where she explored numerous national parks and their endemic wildlife.

Her special interests are critical care/urgent care cases and internal medicine.
